Music Monday heats up with Al Jarreau

Continuing on my theme of songs that keep me warm, here’s one from legendary jazz and R & B musician, Al Jarreau.

Mr. Jarreau passed away yesterday at age 76. I was sad to hear of another artist leaving us.

This single, probably his most well-known song, charted in 1981. I credit it as one of those songs that introduced me to jazz and helped me appreciate the genre.

Enjoy the sweet sound of “We’re in this Love Together” and have a good week,

eden

  4. I listen to this song and discover wonderful music. I added Al Jarreau to my favorite music. Thank you. It is a pity that he is no longer with us.

  5. I was a fan of this guy since the mid 80’s when British DJ, Robbie Vincent would showcase soul and Jazz from across the pond. Jarreau was a rare musical talent, who could cross the line between genres. Sorry to see him go.

    • I’m sorry too John. I was in my early teens at the time and didn’t know about jazz at all. His soft voice and rhythm introduced me to the genre which followed on the heels of disco. Of course, since then I’ve listened to all kinds of jazz, but I’m happy Mr. Jarreau’s catchy tune was one of the first.

      Thanks for commenting, xox

  6. I’m not familiar with his music although I know who he is. But that voice is so smooth.
