Music Monday — Crawling King Snake with Muddy Waters

ASiP coverA Snake in Paradise is due out April 7th — tomorrow, whee!

I’ll have a formal announcement of the launch, but for now, one last song about snakes, and this is a GREAT ONE!

It combines Delta blues great Muddy Waters with George “Harmonica” Smith, ergo my two favorite instruments on one sexy song.

You can’t go wrong.

Have a listen and a wonderful week,

~ eden

“I’m going to crawl into your window
I’m going to crawl into your door
You got anything I want
I’m going to coil up on your floor,

Yeah I’m a crawlin’ king snake, and I rule my den
Well I’m a crawlin’ king snake, and I rule my den
I don’t want nobody hangin’ around with my little girl now,
I’m just gonna use you to be my friend  …”

  1. Old Muddy definitely had his Mojo Workin’ on that one. 🙂

    • Hi Tim, I know! The funny thing is he made up the lyrics as he went along. There have been so many versions of this song done – the Doors, John Lee Hooker and others but Muddy sure had a style! Thanks for commenting, hope you’re warm where you are now 😉

  3. The song created within me a ‘crawly’ feeling! Is that good or bad? 🙂

  4. One can’t go wrong with the blues.

The King of the Blues is not doing well, reportedly.
