In the author’s own words …

I have been avidly reading books of all kinds, but especially Science Fiction books since I was twelve years old. It was the author, Edgar Rice Burroughs, that really inspired me to become a writer. His style of writing spoke to me and evoked a passion for the written word. Throughout my life I have acquired a degree in Music Theory, a Masters in Photography and spent a decade and a half in Graphic and Web Design, but my love of writing never let up. I am currently pursuing my dream of becoming a full-time Author. I have written books ranging from Horror/Thriller to Science Fiction and Fantasy as well as Metaphysical and Poetry.
I am also the proud owner of Tairobi…my Manx cat. He’s been a huge help in the writing process!

His “OZ” on earth.

Inside Solitaire Parke’s Mind

What is your idea of perfect happiness? Perfect, hmm…now there’s a conundrum.

What turns you on creatively? Music.  Each type causes different reactions and I’ve determined which one does what.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? The book that I’m working on presently is told in first person, so it’s probably the word “I”.

What is your greatest regret? I don’t have any.  Although I might regret having said that.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Sadly, one thing wouldn’t be enough.

What is your greatest fear? Speaking to a large crowd in an even larger auditorium.

Which living person do you most admire? Itzhak Perlman.  Not just a virtuoso, but also a true humanitarian.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? I could have answered this question prior to becoming an author.

If you could choose what to come back as, what would it be? It would definitely be an Emerald Dragon.

What do you consider your greatest achievement? Winning the Clio Award – Photography – Interior Design

What is your greatest extravagance? According to my family, it would have to be my computer…it’s a monster.

What is one thing you want to do before you die? Go to the moon.  I’d like to see what everything looks like from there.

What is your favorite music (genre/artist/album/song)? Ludwig Van Beethoven.  Bands come and go.  Beethoven is a constant.

What is your motto? Knowledge is power – Wisdom is power with a purpose.

Thank you Solitaire for giving us a glimpse into your life and your work. I invite everyone to leave this sweet man a comment, and don’t forget about his contest starting tomorrow!
