Year of the Dragon

My best wishes to all those who celebrate Chinese New Year which came in today on the lunar calendar. If you believe in or are interested in Chinese astrology, I’ve provided some information below.

2012 year of the dragonSo, what does the year of the dragon hold? From multiple sources, I’ve cobbled together the following points.

2012 promises to bring optimism and hope. As theΒ dragon is considered the most auspicious and powerful of the 12 signs of the zodiac, we will have a year of high energy and prosperity. It’s also slated to be a time of change and mobility, andΒ usually from bad to good.

I can’t wait. We can all use some good news. πŸ˜‰

  4. So if I was born in the year of the Tiger, a Metal Tiger to be more precise, what does that mean for me… this year? Do I have to wait until the year 2022 for the next exciting thing to happen to me?

  5. Actually, I think it was a very cunning way that the Chinese developed to enable one to take a good guess at another’s age, given that they revealed which part of the Chinese calendar they were born in; which creature they were associated with… πŸ˜‰

    • I agree with PoetJanstie above – that’s precisely the reason why the Chinese developed the animal signs πŸ™‚

I’m a born OX – please be generous with your good guess – the younger, the better πŸ™‚

Thanks for this lovely post, Eden πŸ™‚ May we all have luck and whatever we wish for in this auspicious year!

    • John, Those Chinese people … they are bright sometimes (hehe)
I’m actually not a follower of astrology, but all the signs have good traits, so I’m sure a tiger is a pretty cool cat. And we should all benefit from the year of the dragon — good news all around! πŸ˜‰

I wish I were Chinese so I could say I was Chasing The Dragon in 2012. I was born in 1970, Year of The Dog, which is what my ex wife called me in open court a few years ago…so things work out.

Happy Year of the Dragon to you…glad we met in the Year of the Rabbit.
