Music Monday with Cannonball by @damienrice

It’s National Poetry Month, so I’m choosing songs I consider poetry set to music. “Cannonball” is haunting, atmospheric, and the lyrics are beautiful.

Enjoy Irish singer/songwriter Damien Rice and “Cannonball.”

“Still a little bit of your taste in my mouth
Still a little bit of you laced with my doubt
Still a little hard to say what’s going on

Still a little bit of your ghost, your witness
Still a little bit of your face I haven’t kissed
You step a little closer each day
That I can’t say what’s going on

Stones taught me to fly
Love ‒ it taught me to lie
Life ‒ it taught me to die
So it’s not hard to fall
When you float like a cannonball …”

  1. “In order to find his equal an Irishman is forced to talk to God.” – Braveheart

  2. Those lyrics might make the Sisters Of Little Or No Mercy gasp in shock…

  3. Nice song, milady… Have a great week. xox
